Brown is the most dominate. chances are your baby will have brown eyes. Newborns eyes usually look blue.

All babies are born with this color eyes. Since you have brown eyes (a dominant trait) and your wife has blue eyes (a recessive trait), the dominant brown will most likely override the recessive blue and your son will probably have brown eyes. Unless of course you have a blue recessive trait also, in which case it would be possible for your son to have blue eyes. Considering that you are 100% Dominican, I doubt that this is the case.

That said, my dad is 100% Mexican (brown eyes) and mom is Italian and Irish (hazel eyes). I also have hazel eyes .

Probably brown unless you have a recessive gene for blue. However, the fact that you're 100% Dominican means it's doubtful. In order to have blue eyes a person needs either two genes for blue or blue/green etc. Brown is always a dominant gene and if he inherited one brown from you and one blue from your wife (which is highly likely) then his eyes will be brown.

I dunno. It's hard to say what color they are going to be. Most babies eyes are that greyish blue color when they are first born.

My hubby has blue eyes and is irish. I have brown eyes and I'm a mutt lol (german, italian, portuguese..). We have a child with brown eyes and a child with blue eyes. They both had that blueish gray color when they were born.

I guess it just depends on which genes are the most dominant ones. Yours or hers.

Wish I could have been a little more insightful! Congrats!!

If you have brown eyes, she has blue eyes, the best chance is for you to have brown-eyed babies since brown is a dominant trait, and blue is (mostly) recessive.

If one of your parents has blue eyes, then you have about a 50% chance of blue-eyed babies, since you'd be carrying an unexpressed recessive.

You could still have blue-eyed babies if you have a recessive blue gene (pun inintended) from down the family tree, but it's harder to guess.

The color now doesn't tell much, since most white (or mostly white) babies usually have gray/blue eyes. But, given your eyes and ancestry, I'd bet money on brown (but not much, because I'm cheap. :))

My daughter had the same color when she was born and now 2 years later she has like a light hazel eye color! Very beautiful. But Im not saying that's what your lil babe will have too but hopefully you will get a cute color! I think you have to wait at least a month or two before the true color sets. Luck n Love!

I am a mother of 2 girls.. I am polish and irish and my husband 100% Italian; the oldest girl has brown eyes like her dad and the youngest, blue eyes and blonde hair like her mother(me)!!! It depends, and after 6 months you should know for sure. Babies are born with light eyes but they change.. or maybe not! :)

Your baby may end up with blue eyes since your wife has blue eyes. However, it can end up to be any color. As long as one your previous ancestors' eyes or your wife's previous ancestors' eyes has a certain color, the baby may end up with those colored eyes. My co-worker's oldest daughter has dark blue eyes, but the father has green eyes and the mother has brown eyes. However, the mother's grandma had mixed nationalities and had blue eyes, so the daughter had blue eyes.

Blue eyes are a recessive gene. Does anyone on your side of the family have them? If you have the recessive trait, then baby could have blue eyes. If not, then no, sorry. Both parents need to contribute to recessive genes.

But, you know, I think brown eyes are very pretty!

Most likely it will be the dominant trait... what color eyes do both her parents or both your parents have...most likely your son will have blue eyes but there is still a good chance of him having brown eyes...i just learned about this in science!
