I think that since not many people do that journey, it is not in high demand and coyld be out of the way for some pilots, which could explain the costs. For a cheaper fare, i don't know if i can help you there. On orbitz i found a London-Frankfurt-Lagos for 655 USD.

Now why would you want to go there? Flights are expencive because there simple arent enough people travelling there to make a profit...lets face it Nigeria isnt really a holiday destination!
