I edited an extremely insultingly inaccurate article on wikipedia. My results appeared for a little bit, but two hours later I checked back to the page, and it’s back to its original state. But it doesn’t look like the person changed it again, because everything is word for word, and why would someone erase my more accurate edited version of the article? Also, the original article was written quite a while back so it’s pretty unlikely that the original author was able to catch it that soon. What’s going on here? I know I shouldn’t get too upset because pretty much the whole website is slanted or inaccurate. But I just wanted to defend the dignity of the subject.

But it wasn't opinionated. I changed it from slanted to balanced. And how do I use a flag button?

What's the article?

Completely rewriting an article on the wikipedia is not looked highly upon unless you have a very good reputation there.

People consider it as abuse unless you have a reputation.

I would start by making minor edits and stating the reason every time. Use references if you have them as well. Establish yourself as an expert and then you should have a much easier time editing there.

Wikipedia is a joke...... a total waste of energy and time. I have found so many inaccuracies, so many inaccurate things...it's unreal.

There are plenty of websites online that give you the info you are looking for without ever having to lay your eyes on that trash.

Good luck.

Make sure first that it's not also opinion you're fighting for, because Wikipedia no-no's that. My best advice is to flag it with a sticker saying the material is not neutral.

Maybe your browser has the old page stored in cache. Try going back to the page and hit refresh on your browser.

delete your cookies and make sure the page is not in your cache. Make sure you stated your sources because they only want facts, not opinion.

if that does not work, change it again... if it goes back, flag it and **** it .
