depending on the phone you can buy a cheap cord that connects to the phone where u usually put the power adapter adn connect it via USB. from there youll need some software for your computer to recognize the phone as a device.

A USB Cable and a PC Synch program that recognizes your phone. What brand is your phone? You should be able to download the program at the manufacturer's website.
