Witchcraft has its roots in primitive earth and sun worship. Cavemen used a form of sympathetic magic by drawing on the walls of caves. It evolved over the centuries into Paganism, Druidism and polytheistic worship practiced by a variety of cultures throughout the world including such diverse cultures as the Mayans, Celts, American Indians, Norse, Greeks and Romans.

When Christianity came along, and the Christians tried to evangelize the world, they labeled pagans and polytheists as evil, and the herbalism and chemistry practiced by rural communities and Shamans went underground to avoid persecution.

Modern witches, or Wiccans trace their roots to these early forms of earth and goddess worship and practice the same sorts of magick the early practitioners did. Of course, now, they share information by internet instead of clandestine coded messages written in blood on crumpled parchment.

Witchcraft predates Christianity. It's a nature based religion, that has both gods and goddesses.
Wiccans (those who practice the witchcraft) do not believe in the devil.....they do see Jesus as a prophet but do not worship the Christian God.
Many of today's holidays has bits and pieces of the old religion in them, in order to convert the people over to the new religions. For instance Wiccans celebrate Yule in December. One of the decorations is red and green, which over the years Christmas has claimed the colors. The same is with Easter eggs etc
Halloween to wiccans is the last day of the year. It ends the growing season and harvest.
It's a very beautiful religion.

Witchcraft is simply another word for sorcery. Wiccans insist on calling their religion witchcraft and themselves witches. They don't have any magic powers

And did you do your research on Paganism?

Because THAT is what witchcraft is.

There is NO devil worship, nothing satanic, nada...

It is a belief where nature and the god & godess are celebrated.

No harm is intended to anyone.

Anyone who says ANY different, is ignorant, and unwilling to do ANY research for themselves.
