So a woman who have many men reflects a personality that she is liberated, easy going, sensual, carefree like that of a prostitute.

In the middle east as the men are constantly at war that leaves a bunch of LONELY women such that the rules that they can marry many work for making more children to up the population so there are more wars. Since the tendancy is for the better off men to be commanders there probably is a tendancy to be inbred and have some related problems such as not very diversified intelligence or differences of thought patterns thus destiny says they will not progress as well.
As to the way it goes is if a man can satisfy many women and take care of them then they become more genetically successful. It is also about control and history.
Since the European world and much of the world until recently was totally male controlled and it will be many years before women come close to catching up to men in many aspects if ever the objective for the male is to control and be more genetically successful. If a man is supporting another man's child then he is less apt to be genetically successful because this is also related to economic success. The additional economic drain upon the resources of the provider for another mans baby makes their own genetics less successful. But if a man can get another man to do this for him and he has been in power in the past along with able to disseminate the myth thus enhancing his capability to be genetically successful (e.g. kings princes nobles who write the stories and pay to have them told etc. like Cinderella stories) then they prevail.

Of course a King like King Henry the Eigth would want to be seen as a great lover because he had many illigitimate children besides the few who were his in marriage. Thus the ruler has stories told by his staff and entertainers that he would want to hear and then those stories are again told to the populus to make money and still please the ruling class so they do not cut off their heads.

It is all about who is ignorantly in control and pays for the story tellers.

Look at it this way. A males role in nature is to mate with as many females as possible in order to ensure his DNA is spread. A females role is to select the best male to mate with to ensure her offspring thrives. If a female is not being picky when it comes to a mate, she is seen as if her contribution to the species is not a benefit. A male can mate uncountable amounts of times and still be able to procreate. A female can only procreate a limited amount of times.
