class of 09 I'm guessing...me too. That's the whole point of extra stuff, to prove you can muti-task. Yes this will mean giving up the movies, or starbucks or whatever, but that's the price you gotta pay to be smart and talented. As the year goes on there will be less homework.

Use a calendar to plan out your week. This way you can see exactly how much time you have left after school, family obligations and extra curriculars are dne to schedule to study.
From here, you have to make a decision. Is there honestly enough time for your school work?
If not, there are other options besides dropping activities. Consider dropping an easy elective course and taking a Study Hall instead. It could give you the extra time you need for homework without giving up the team, the play, or the yearbook.
Extracurriculars are fun, but you need to find ways to make sure all your school work gets done. Don't forget your family too!

It's awful, isn't it, how schools have piled on so much homework that students can't lead lives outside of school, isn't it?
If you're a decent student and aren't spending more time than everybody else on your homework, then you may just have to quit some of your extra-curricular activities if you want to keep your marks up. If you find you are taking longer than everyone else and it's because you are struggling with the concepts, consider getting a tutor for awhile.
Also consider looking at time you may be wasting during the day when you could be doing your homework. As nerdy as it may be, I often spent part of my lunch hours doing homework and usually my spares. But it meant I had less and sometimes no homework at night than other people. It was definitely worth it. You may have other blocks in your day where you can fit in some time to do your work.
Good luck!

I do it by simply sitting down and doing it. Last, year, I was the lead in my school play (Little Shop), which meant I didn't get home until 7, then dinner, so I didn't get to my homework until 8 PM every night. It took some serious sleep deprivation at first, but eventually will to get sleep took over and concentration set in.
I did, however, have to quit yearbook, which was 2 hours a few times a week DURING drama. And so I had to drop it.
Good luck! Try not to quit too much, it's the only time you'll be young!

Use your lunch/ study hall. Yes, I know it is social time, but so are your extra curriculars. My HS let students go to the library during this time if you had a pass from a teacher. Also, you might want to get up early to finish things. I did that in high school so I could participate in all of the other things I enjoyed to do.

Use extra time in classes, Do it on the bus, Do it during lunch, Go to classes early and get your work done in those extra minutes, let me know if you need more because I am like the queen of getting homework done like five minutes before it's due.

either do some of your homework in other classes, cut down on TV time, or make up everything that's not meticulously checked by paranoid teachers

Plan ahead and stay organized. Don't procrastinate. If you do, you will end up in a downward spiral to being overstressed.
