I agree it is offensive I am a 31 W F, I have a son and wouldn't like it one bit if he used it regardless of the -a- at the end.

I somewhat think that saying "N i g g a " is ok as long as no one is offending anyone. I've had friends that say this but they would NEVER say it in an offensive way or a Racist way to anyone. I guess it's all how you use it and to WHO....I wouldn't let my daughter use it in my house. I don't use it hardly EVER. Id let my daughter know that it's disrespectful, so keep it to a minimum if she MUST say it and use it OUT side of the house for your respect! Don't ground her for saying an opinionated word that you don't like, she can say whatever she wants, just let her know that she is not allowed to say it in the house around you and your wife!

I'm a 28 year old, black woman and I think that rather or not the word ends in an "a" or a "r", it is still highly offensive and I wince everytime I hear it.

Racial epitaphs are a part of society. The best thing you can do is to try t get it across to her that such words are offensive and wrong, right now at 15 she's under allot of peer pressure real or imagined so do what fathers do and be the best dad you can.

Age: 20
Race: mixed, black and white
I don't find the word offensive at all when a black person is saying it to me, if someone else says it that's a different story. My friends and I use the word sometimes jokingly or as a term of endearment.

I'm a twenty year old, white male, I a believe that it's irrelevant, whether you spell it with "er" or "a", it's still an offensive and racist word, and it should not be used.

I'm a white 45 year old married mother of a 13 yr. old and 26 yr. old. Both boys...but if I ever heard the "N" word come out of either of their mouths, I'd slap them silly....No matter how it is pronounced, it still means the same thing...the worst word that could come out of their mouths...I don't care how many "friends" and "schoolmates" say it...my boys will NEVER have my permission to say such a filthy, degrading word in my presence. And I better never hear of them saying it! NEVER! Age 13, age 26, age 100....I don't care...NEVER...Get my drift?......Your 15 yr. old daughter is lucky she has you raising her...she might get smart...your wife is WRONG for letting her say such a word...correct it Dad!!!Please!;-)

age:almost 16
race:middle eastern, white..
i understand what she means. friends say it meaning "friend"
as in "Hey dude, Hey man, Hey N**ga,Hey darling.. its kind of a greeting in a weird way? If i ever say it, it is as a joke and not meaning to offend anyone. I dont think you should ground her for it because she will not stop saying it just because you say for her to. she will keep saying it you just wont hear her, and she will say it behind your back. Also, i think the blame for this revolution of the word could be blamed on media. mainly rap/hiphop when they almost positively say the word in EVERY song!!!!!
