(On a side note, keep in mind that many people in the media and politicians try to tell people what things are rights that are not. Civil rights are a total lie. The word "rights" is practically a cliche it's been so manipulated.)

... thats one of the main problems in america believe it or not ... there are very few people who actually know what their rights are ... thats why the govt can do many of the things they are doing and get away with and not too many people care.

There's this excellent document, it's called the Bill of Rights.. read it and the amendments thereto.. that's what your teacher had in mind when he or she assigned you this homework..
