Any one have anything good to say about the 2002 Avalanche. How about a price tag of 17,000 and 48,000 miles. Let me know what you think.

The price is right, but the gas mileage is poor, about 11 miles to the gallon. The value of SUV's has dropped considerably over the last few years. I would reject this vehicle because of that alone. It'll cost nearly $100 or more just for gas in that thing.

I have an 03 that I bought new. I absolutely want no other truck period! The ride is great, very comfortable. The fuel economy is not so great about 14 mpg. BTW, it won't cost $100 to fill up. I've had it down to fumes and yes, it's expensive to fill up but not $100. The most I ever paid for a fill up was $82. Usually I fill up at a 1/4 tank and it runs around $70. As for the midgate it's a nice feature, I wish that Chevy would have designed it so that you could fold down one side or the other or both depending on your needs, rather than to be forced to fold the whole thing down everytime. The rear deck covers are not waterproof. You will get water in the bed. The manual states it as well. As for the pricing of the vehicle, do some research online. www.edmunds.com is good. www.kbb.com is good too, but I like edmunds better. Both sites offer research and articles and links to your search vehicle for sale in your area. Carmax.com will give you an idea of what you could end up paying. Carmax won't negotiate their prices, although I think they are a little high , but that's just my opinion. In any event, good luck!

Need to more about the Truck. Is it a loaded Z71 4x4 with leather or a base 2wd. It is a very cool truck. The midgage makes it a pickup with a 8 foot box or a crew cab. Not to mention the side storage compartments that hold cans of your favorite 12oz beverage and ice. It also has a Suburban suspension not the traditional leaf springs found on Pickup trucks. If it is a 4x4 with decent equipment, it sounds about right. If you need the utility of a truck, and the ride quality of a SUV it is the way to go.

The Avalanche is a very very cool design. Nothing like it.
so- if you want a really convertable truck - the Avalanche is your only choice.

and- they're great trucks.

$17K doesn't sound bad... depending on options and conditions. But let www.kbb.com be your guide here.

worth the price, but gas mileage is low. about 12 miles per gallon and it has those ugly plastic claddingd all over it, but looks better with them off.
