In the past, the news stories from India were full of poverty and starvation. Tonite I heard a news story about a new problem India is facing: obesity. It is estimated that 17% of India's population is severely overweight. That amounts to about 200 million fat people, which is equal to 2/3 the population of the USA. The story stated India is ill equiped to handle the NEW health problems this presents.
I guess Americans, particularly the unemployed IT people, can take comfort in the fact that Indians are getting fat off all our jobs exported to India by our politicians and big business.
How long before the news talks about the problem the Mexican government is having with wet-back Americans crossing the border to work illegally?
Americans, we are being raped by our politicians and the world. How much longer will we allow this to go on.

Starvation is a defined as a severe reduction of vitamins, nutrients, and energy. That being said, overweight people can certainly die of starvation.As far as getting "raped' by politicians and big business, I couldn't agree more. I do my best to educate my peers of the scumbag politcians and their underlying agendas. However, taking money from schools and working families to make the rich richer seems too high an obstacle to overcome.

How right you are! We lost 70% of our tech to outsourcing. When we hired temps for a special project we had these poor guys with their PhD's begging for a job to feed their families. It really sucks!
We dealt with DSL and the phone companies would hook up the loops and test with us to make sure all was well. They still will not call India and we have to do their work as well as ours.
This is soooooooooooo wrong.

You know of course that we have been exporting high tech EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) jobs to Mexico for a looong time.
I guess our strategy is to let them work there so we don't have to let them work here.....
too bad it's not working.
