Isn't it possible to experience the highest highs & lowest lows on earth, wouldn't heaven or hell be redundant.

for example, what could be better than sex w/ someone you love, and what could be worse than war.

yes.. and i agree with your observations..
...speaking of heaven and hell.. hell is a mistranslation from "grave", and heaven comes to, or returns to earth.. why'd it leave in the first place, this heaven, this perfection? because of man and angel's abilty to choose, which comes from the abilty to rationalize..

Of course they are. If there is such a thing as an eternal afterlife, what's the purpose of living, then? A finite life is NOTHING--nada--compared to eternity. Why should this blink-of-an-eye existence of ours be the determining factor for how we spend the rest of eternity? It would be like judging a person's value as an adult based on the first tenth of a second after they were born. Did they cry in that instant? No good, send them to prison for their whole life. Did they not cry in that instant? Let them live as aristocrats. It's completely nonsensical.

Heaven & hell truly are manmade concepts, in more ways than one. They are manmade first in the sense that we invented them as a means of enforcing morality in religion. Such morality is the morality of children: be good, or Sky-Daddy will punish you. Those of us with more mature moralities do not need the bribe of heaven or the threat of hell to do the right thing.

Heaven & hell are also manmade in the sense that we create these states in our lives, in the here & now. They are largely states of mind, though in some instances--like war--they can be much more real. As sentient, freethinking individuals, we have the power to change both our minds and our surroundings to create the state we're in. Those people who choose not to be constrained by the many artificial limits of society, religion, culture, tradition, etc. tend to live both freer and happier lives. Others, may have a harder time finding that state of happiness and fulfillment that comes from a good life.

Heaven is not on earth because Jesus is not here you do not see the loved ones that have passed away.

Are you very young? Because there is so much more to life that is good besides sex, I have nothing against sex but really. And there is no suffering or hate in heaven.

I do believe that hell is the hole you go to when you die as "hades" is a hole in the ground, and that we are experiencing good and bad things here to perfect our souls. There will always be an inperfection of balance between people on earth, because human beings have not learned to share and share alike, are greedy and basically tend to look out for #1. Thank goodness for Jesus' teachings though, they help us learn how to be compassionate and some of us are born with an understanding of "love thy neighbor" beyond what many comprehend. May the Lord help us all to come to that point when we raise ourselves against the bullies, big poweful bullies of this world and say in a united front, "Enough".. God Bless

Just yesterday I was having a conversation with a friend of mine on the duality of mankind (Good and Evil). We were discussing the possibility that God and Satan are one and the same. The argument we used to reach this speculative conclusion was: Since man is created in God's image, then it stands to reason that God is capable of evil just like we are (Of course we were using the Judeo-christian perspective of God), furthermore he/she/it (God) has demonstrated this in various situations in the Bible(evil).

As far as Heaven and Hell existing here on Earth. I would have to say ultimately yes perhaps. But currently it is a combination of both good and evil that every human being faces on a daily basis. Some days are good, some are bad. When one thinks of heaven or hell, it is usually one or the other not a combo; always good for heaven and always evil for hell.

So as far as heaven and hell here on earth now I would think no. But who knows when it comes to these things...

The point of Heaven and Hell is that they are absolutes. In the traditional "Hell" there is no love, no happiness or joy. It's not a nice place, and the bad there goes far beyond mortal comprehension. "Heaven" is the same deal, except in reverse.

Nope. Heaven would be like a million times better than sex w/ someone you love and hell would be a million times worse than war.

Yes, and its called the limbic system of your brain....that primitive leftover way of thinking that traces its roots from our caveman days. The more recent development of the cerebral cortex only happened in the last 60,000 to 100,000 years.

Obsolete genes do not die overnight, therefore you'll be seeing people believing in a hell and heaven, and things that go bump in the night.

i'm not sure. the way its stated interior the Bible, the front to hell could desire to be someplace in the worldwide (of path far faraway from inhabitants) however the descent of spirits won't be able to be considered by utilising the human eye? and probably hell is interior the midsection of the earth, whcih is basically too warm scientists have under no circumstances been waiting to get to it. Or it may desire to be in yet another galaxy, on some far-off planet, and so on... And Heaven could desire to be in another galaxy or demension, Idk, the opportunities are countless..
