I am on call 24/7 for my job and receive some calls for it. I currently pay $100 a month for my cell phone. I've been at this company for a year, and from the start, they said they would pay for it.

I told the office manager type lady that I would like to signup for the companie's cell phone plan in April. My co-worker told her the same week I did. My co-worker was added to the companies plan (free phone, free plan) about a month later. I wasn't. Should I bring up the issue again? It's costing me about $1200 a year in cell phone charges. It was also a stated benefit by my bosses, the office manager, my co-workers, etc. Should I drop it?

It's not a huge issue, but it would be nice since I've been told many times that it was a benefit for my team. It makes me wonder why she didn't sign me up for it... (free company phone plan)

I don't have it in writing-- it's been verbally stated many times. I haven't tried to push the issue very much like I should have. It's also not a formal HR policy-- it's a benefit I have for being on call and for having my position. I don't see why my co-worker (who worked there for LESS time than me) instantly got it.

Would you still pursue the issue if you planned on only staying at the company another year or so?

They have NO idea that I plan on staying for only another year or so. I first asked the office manager in March of this year. I've only worked there for just over a year at this point. I get along with the bosses, always smile/seem to enjoy things, do everything above their expectations, etc.

I just wouldn't want to think that they're intentioanlly using me or purposefully withholding benefits.

No, talk to your Supervisor and find out what's going on. Ask them about getting reimbursed for what you have already paid too.

Try to send an email to the people who have told you that you can be on the company's phone plan, that way you get a response in writing. I would keep pursuing the issue and politely go to the next level in the chain of command and ask them about being on the phone plan. Does your employer know that you are thinking about leaving? That could be why they are not jumping to get you on the phone plan. They may think that you'll be gone soon, so what's the point. If you do get on the plan, just make sure that you are only using the company phone for company purposes.

If you don't need the celphone, it is best to cancel your application even if it is a company benefit.
Ask the HR if you haven't been included in the list for freebies. Haven't you catch the cut-off?
Or is there any priority to those who have bigger salaries?
Ask for the policy or memo regarding this being stated as benefit.

Absolutely not. Go n check with the HR Department (If got any) or manager n ask them to settle the problem soonest possible.

If this is a stated benefit, then I think that you should pursue it. Approach the office manager, in a nice way, and remind her of your request. Remember that it is very easy to be nice, and then get nasty, but very hard to be nasty and then get nice.

I believe that you have the right to ask her again... I mean you are a good worker and they have said that they would pay for it on the first place... good luck

if you can get them them state it in writing, like via email, that would be good enough to persue the issue at a higher level.
