Well if the party starts before the practice is over then tell the coach that you have to go to an important family gathering so that way you dont miss the whole practice, and you get to go to the party.

There is no good excuse to miss practice unless you have a real reason to miss.

JohnK there are no reasons to ever miss practice.the day you miss you are cheating your team but most importantly you cheat yourself that's the day your coach would see some glimmer of talent he /she never knew you had. The sum of a good team is only as good as the weakest player. Ill bet your not a starter if you show the coach guts and tenacious attitude that may push you over the top. The best never rest and the good ones never miss practice. Why be on the team if you want excuses to miss practice??

You have a medical injury that may get worst with more activity, make sure you get proper treatment.

well it depends what kind of sport it is. for example if it's a team practice u'll hav a harder time to pull out of, but if it's an individual sport, it might be easier to explain to your coach. first of all think about the real reason why you're missing practice? is it really necessary? if it's because of hw then you can maybe tell your coach or whoevr you're trying to explain to. but if the reason is constantly hw then explain what hw it was. was it a project? whatevr. you get the idea. but it's because you were really tired and just didnt feel like going you might want to say you weren't feeling well or you stayed up late doing whatevr. or you had something to do with your family. your parents needed you to do something. or maybe you stayed up late working but you still wanted to go to practice you could say your parents wouldn't let you because they said you would get too tired. pretty much anything will work just make sure it's reasonable and practical. don't be like aliens came and took me away during practice hours. doesn't work. but of course telling the truth will always be better. it benefits you and allows people to be able to trust you next time you say something. especially if you don't usually miss practice you can just tell the truth. it will be easier for you and in the long run. but if absolutely neccessary then i suppose you could make up a good excuse. well, best of luck
