=2x+5x+1+4 (Commutative Property of Addition)
=(2+5)x+5 (adding like terms)
=7x+5 (Distributive Property/adding like terms)

2x + 1 + 4 + 5x

rearange the problem so that the x's are in a row.

2x + 5x + 1 + 4

2x + 5x = 7x

1 + 4 = 5

7x + 5 = 12x

2x+1+4+5x
then
2x+5x=7x soooo

7x+1+4

5+7x

if ur solving 4 x that's how u do it.
2x+1+4+5x=0
2x+5x=-5
7x=-5
x=-5/7

if it is an expression that's how u do it.
2x+1+4+5x
(2x+5x)+(1+4)
(7x)+(5)
7x+5
