Get and Edelbrock carb and set timing. You'll never worry about your carb again.

I used to use Holley and I was allways adjusting, messing with it , having problems, If you fart you need a new power valve. I got an Edelbrock and I found myself anticipating "well it's about time for that P.O.S. carb to take a crap" but it never did. 1 month passed, then 2, next thing I new it had been 6 months and not 1 problem out of the carb. I'll never throw good money away on a furkin Holley carb again. Those pieces of crap are worthless.

Once your car backfires closed throttle the Holley power valve is damaged in the front float chamber. New anti back fire power valve is available. After Ka boom powervalve fails open then to much fuel. Lean running will make fire come out the top got any eyebrows left? To much distributor advance, wrong plug wire placement to low float setting, and not enough accelerator pump . WE Yamster Technicians need more info. On acceleration? all the time at cruse, lots of load only on right turns? And what the 350 is in, what mods?

check the level not sure if you have sight plug? If you do on the side of the fuel bowl, will be a plug un screw it and fuel should just barley come out. On top of the fuel bowl should be a adjusting screw with a lock nut clockwise decreases fuel and counterclockwise increase. also you my have a power valve problem witch can all so cause this late timing intake valves not opening etc. You need to put more info. Did this starting hap ping when you installed the carb? Do you use on tunnel ram with mu-ti-carbs? Hope this helps goods luck.

you need to adjust the carb then adjust the timing you need to adjust the timing to the carb check to make sure you dont have a plug wire crossed but dont worry you didnt hurt the carb when it backfired you didnt blow any power valve it just needs to be adjusted and set the timing
how big is your cam make sure it is enough for the amount of gas you are dumping in the motor

Too much fuel mixed with air. I think you need to adjust the carb for air/fuel mix.
