you need a chauffer license, and i'm sure you have to have special insurance.

In most cases you need a chauffer's license (which in most places is the same as a taxi license). You also need a special PSC plate on your vehicle so you can collect whatever taxes are applicable. Check with your local city hall.

you might want to check with your insurance co, but, if you are taxi-ing people around for profit, it means you are a business. that means, by law, you have to have either a chauffer's lic., or a cdl.. if you get into a crash, you are wide open for a mega lawsuit, especially if your passenger is hurt. also, the tax people frown on a business being run without proper permits and such. you are begging for more trouble than i think you realize.
