On 9/11 3000 people died in a terrorist attack. It was a huge tragedy where I lost a good friend. But how much freedom are you willing to give up to be “safe”.

To put it in some perspective, in 2005 alone, 42,000 Americans died in highway or traffic accidents and the government is hesitant to make major safety changes to cars or roads. I don’t know the exact number, but several thousand people die every year of the flu, but there no huge government push to find a cure.

Why is it we will pay any price to prevent terrorism when it kills such a relatively few number of people?

I never said I supported terrorism, and I don’t. I just want to know how much freedom are you willing to give up?

This administration wants you to believe that you will have to do one or the other, you can't have both....... despite we have had both in the past and regarless that many European Countries who have suffered the same terrorist travesties have their freedom and security too.

This administration runs their political agenda behind closed doors and behind peoples backs covering their butts by keeping its people in fear of another 9/11 or terrorism.

The reality is that terrorism will never be erraticated, its been around since the begining of civilization, just like disease, its something that you can fight symptums, but very rarely eraticate it.

Terrorism is the disease, and our best defences is to Unite as the people of this beautiful contry. People cannot unite when we as a country are falling apart with a failing education system, failing Medical systems/programs, with gangs - violence - drugs on the street, with open boarders, unsecured ports and transportation terminals....... With out our rights and freedoms we will never get these problems fixed or even mended.

This administration is fully aware of this, but they would rather invest the money of the U.S.A. in the middle east with soldiers blood on it, to further ensure their own finacial gain in the future (if not present). They don't care about the people of the United States, who they were elected to represent........ they now dictate the people of the united states.

This administration is all about greed that stems from the middle east, therefore that is where their focus is, not here in the United States where our problems are overwhelming, and this administration turns a blind eye......

I am not willing to give up any of my freedoms for secruity, too many brave men and wemone of our U.S. military past to present died to preserve those rights, and I will not let their death be invaine. Security for this nation is in unity, education and knowladge, exactly what this administration doesn't want for its people they so willinging enjoy manipulating.

I think you've missed the point on this one.

Preventing terrorism isn't about statistics or the number of victims. Terrorism is a tumor on the side of civilization.

There is no place in this world for people who kill innocent men, women and children because of an ideaology.

I know the risks when I drive a vehicle - or the risks of catching the flu.
I don't think I want to add the risks of some Islamic terrorist blowing up the local mall when I go shopping - do you?

I guess it is because this could hurt our way of life more than anything. Even though Americans could give up some things such as freedom, no one wants to. You're right a relatively small amount of people were killed in 9/11 compared to everything else, although it was terrible, it was the only attack ever on our soul, so that's why it is raised to outstanding proportions, and also I think to rowdy us up to want to fight overseas, when we can't pinpoint who did it, and who did it is already dead.

What freedoms are we giving up? Examples please because the only things that have been taken away are privileges that, in all reality, we had no real rights too in the first place. You are the type of person who would probably get mad if you were delayed due to road construction or if you had to wait in line for a flu shot. People don't seem to understand that terrorism won't simply go away. It is new to us so of course we will have to make some changes but we have given up no freedoms. You can still criticize your government right? You can still burn a flag right? Oh yeah and my favorite, if you don't like the way it is going, you have the RIGHT to LEAVE.

im willing to let the govment tap phones of suspected terrorists without bothering to get warrants, im willing to let traffic light camera takes pics of faces and run them thru a database of suspected terrorists or wanted criminals, actually, since i keep my nose clean, id be willing to put up with quite a bit, as long as they clean house in the states as well as fudge about overseas.

Well those few numbers of people as you referred to them as were attacked on American soil. We take that quite personally. Just one of our silly traits.

So beheading, murdering, bombing a relatively small amount of people is acceptable, and you support this?
