...I just got back from my very first trip into a WalMart...and I'm still sorta shaken up by the experience.

Good God man, I've been in a Wal-Mart and I grew up in the pale grey panacea of mediocrity and no-choice known as the UK! I like to think I'm the strangest stranger in any given land I'm in - that's why I'm in Answers, I'm pushing the envelope! :oD

On the subject of Wal-Mart, I think American comedian Rich Hall said it best:

Everything imaginable on the planet is at Wal-Mart, and it's open 24 hours...you can go in there at three in the morning and watch this crusty human parade of rodentia walking in and out. You know, people who come in and say:
"I need a Bible, some road flares and some gaffer's tape!"

I am a stranger in a strange land. We moved here 21/2 years ago, and we clearly do not belong here, but we can't afford to move again. It has clearly been an overwhelming day

Yes, I've lived in Texas since ' 83 and I STILL feel like a stranger in a strange land... I grew up outside of Buffalo, NY...

My home is rapidly becoming a strange land with all the all the fence jumpers coming in daily. Does that count?
