The coalition forces had a chance to unload on them, but because there is an international law about bombing cemeteries, the opportunity came and went.
When fighting terror , why do the good guys have to follow the law, while the bad guys act with impunity? That cemetery should have been made a cemetery.

I don't understand it either. I mean we are at war with these people. These are, after all the same people who are harboring Osama and planned the the 9/11 attacks. These are the same folks killing American soldiers. Either we are going to have the stomach for war or we are going to tie our hands behind our backs.
And for you peace loving people out there, once you declare war, you take every opportunity to defeat your enemy. There is a term in war called "no quarter". Look it up.
There is a famous warrior who wrote a book on war. His name was Machiavelli. Look him up.
Remember 9/11. And grow some nads.

While the Taliban are undoubtedly the bad guys, few people on this side of the Atlantic would call the Americans the good guys.

US aircraft have been happy to attack weddings so I find it surprising that they balk at bombing a funeral.

Give the US the benefit of the doubt and assume they were reluctant to bomb a funeral, where were the infantry or the famous air cavalry?

I missed this news item, any chance of a link?

Four Afghan cabinet ministers escaped unhurt yesterday when a suicide bomber killed six at the funeral of Abdul Hakim Taniwal, a provincial governor assassinated the previous day in a similar attack by the Taleban.

i do unlike Our adult men battling over in Afghanistan, -I in no way have. yet I even have in no way enjoyed the way the Taliban abuse, brutalize & homicide harmless human beings at their Discretion ! :( I see their ilk & their techniques as a unfavourable, human "maximum cancers"- that could in user-friendly terms unfold & improve WORSE- despite if this is allowed to unfold during Afghanistan & god is conscious of the place Else ! So WHAT are Our "thoughts". -Pull OUT of Afghanistan & "wait" till we've not got any decision- yet to bypass to conflict & Invade Them lower back ( with MANY extra casualties) ? or basically save on Doing as we at the instant are- plugging alongside, attempting to win the Afghan human beings to our section- and hoping they are able to take administration of their own affairs & united states...? this is a Conundrum that i don't understand if anybody has the answer to... -which includes Our own government...

That very incident shows you why we are better than them, and why they need to be destroyed. They thrive on death while we embrace life. Cemeteries are holy places. Think of where members of your family are buried. If a criminal was hiding out in one, would you want your families burial sites to be desecrated just to catch a criminal?

I'm interested in hearing the Republican point of view. Those who cried because Clinton wouldn't unload on Osama when he had the chance.

Because acting in any other way would make us no better than the terrorist. Why is this so hard to understand?
