What do you mean living in vain? Living in vain means living without purpose, and this woman lives a life of purpose. Who are you representing. No one has to marry if they don't want too. Look into yourself before you begin to ask such meaningless questions.

She has chosen not to marry, and she and Stedman have been in a committed relationship at least twice as long as most marriages last. She does not do anything in vain. If you are asking if she is living in sin, that is a personal preference. With all the good that she has done in her life, and with her life; I think she has probably erased any "sin" that may be involved. Have a good night.

Oprah has stated on several occasions that she chooses not to marry and is content with their relationship as it stands. I think she is not in vain, she doesn't preach about marriage or push her beliefs on anyone else. It is her choice. She sees first hand so many "marriage gone bad" celebrity outcomes on her show, her position is reinforced all the time.

They've been living together for like 20yrs, so I think they ARE married, albeit "Common Law Marriage". Marriage is a state of being, not a paper.
And did you mean is she living in sin? No, when anyone loves another person...man or woman...and stay together... I just can't call that a sin.

Why do women need to get married? Why does anyone need to get married.
They have a relationship that works for them and that's all that matters. It's nobody's business and I don't believe they asked anybody for their opinion.

it's her choice. some people have better relationships by NOT marrying their partners. married or not, she is still very inspiring to countless people in the world. her marital status is nobody's business and it certainly hasn't hurt her success.
