...Over the years strangers have helped me score beer, cigarettes and a bevy of pharmacological products...what have they ever done for you?

My 6 year old son was playing on a 2 story escalator and was carried up the outside - dangling by his hands from the rubber hand rail as it carried him toward the top. At the top, the handrail disappeared into a wall. I was too far away to reach my son in time to keep him from dropping when the handrail disappeared. Below him as a solid marble floor....a stanger on the escalator pulled him over -- when I got to the top he handed him back to me.

No stranger in my life has ever helped me in any way (if you don't count an occasional door opener when your hands are full) except the time I was hit by a drunk driver and this lady and her husband who were bystanders made sure I wasn't in shock.

Maybe I should have been hanging out with strangers instead of friends and family. Ce pt' mommy always said,"don't talk to strangers". Maybe she was afraid they would help me.

A stranger gave me her teddy bear once at a fair =) She didnt want it so she gave it to me (I was little at that time) Unfortunately, I dont know what happened to the teddy bear

they gave us gas money, paid our rent, done our laundry, gave us a ride in the pouring rain, bought us food, scores of other stuff. i thank God for them,too. ( pst, gimme some of that pharmaceutical stuff, will ya!??!) just jokin....
