Gender bias is a form of sexism. You know like boys's night out or girls's night out. It's when a bunch of men go out, form an alliance, and pretty much treat women like pieces of meat. The same goes for women when they do the same thing. Although this doesn't always happen in just the night club or restaurants. When it becomes a problem, is whenever it enters the work place. Typically the men will treat the women like pieces of meat by belittling them or making sexually associated comments to or about the women. Women will also do the same thing, just not as often although the consequences are the same.

Gender bias is thinking that gender defines what one can do or who they are. For example, the idea that women cannot be police officers and men cannot be nurses are forms of gender bias in careers. (For the record, I don't believe either of these ideas!)
It's a social issue because as long as our society says little girls should wear pink and little boys should wear blue, we are confined to the standards that society has places upon us.

Gender bias is also known as sex discrimination. It is shown wherever there is a negetive connotation shown on one of the gendsers. It becomes a problem when it effects services rendered, legal issues, and/ or work place issues and is essentially thought of as a social issue because gone unchecked this effects society as a whole.

Sexism is commonly considered to be discrimination and/or hatred against people based on their sex rather than their individual merits, but can also refer to any and all systemic differentiations based on the sex of the individuals.
Sexism can refer to subtly different beliefs or attitudes:
* The belief that one sex is superior or more valuable to the other;
* The attitude of misogyny (hatred of females) or misandry (hatred of males); as well as
* The attitude of imposing a limited notion of masculinity (gender) on males (sex) and a limited notion of femininity (gender) on females (sex).
