If the side effects bother you, please don't be embarassed to speak to your doctor, because they are the ones who can help you with another medication or maybe they can suggest a dosing schedule where you would take the meds at a time opposite the time of which you were having sex or pleasuring yourself.

Also, you don't mention in this question whether you were easily achieving orgasm before the medication. Be aware that many women aren't able to reach orgasm through intercourse alone, so you may need to learn more about what your body needs in order to achieve orgasm.

Just never be embarassed to ask your doctor when you have questions like this ... that's what they are there for!

Zoloft? I couldn't have an orgasm either to save my life. I still couldn't until recently. I stopped my meds 5 weeks ago. I had an O today like 3 times. Nice break after so many years. Talk to your doc. There are other meds that have a lower risk of those side effects.

First of all, if the meds you are taking cause sexual side effects, then you need to go back to your Dr and let him know what is going on. He will probably be able to change either the dose, or may be even to another medication. It all depends on what you are taking.

Talk to your doctor about taking something that will still help you with your medical needs, but may not have the same side effects, Many meds have alternatives, that may be better for you.Kim

Talk to your doctor. If you can't lower the meds, he should be able to prescribe you another kind that can still do the same job but without the side effects.

That's awful. I was on effexor-xr and had the same problem. And it took a couple of weeks after I stopped taking it to get rid of the problem.

I don't know what kind of medication you're talking about, but if it's an anti-depressant, your doctor might be willing to try a different one. Don't stop taking your meds until you talk with your doctor though.

I know a friend of mine was on paxil, and his doctor told him it was okay to not take it on the weekends so he could maintain a normal sex life. I don't think that works with all antidepressants, but ask you doctor.

have you considered going off the meds. Orgasms are way more important than anything your meds may be doing for you.
