Well, something that is incandescent glows because it is being heated, like a lightbulb or red hot metal. Candid comes from Latin Candidus, "white shining", from candere, "to be white, glisten”; the current sense evolved via “pure” and “impartial.”

Candid comes from the idea that people who were pure in men's dreams would glow with an ora of white light around them, as if they had glory, or they were like an angel, hense the light's behind people's heads in Catholicistic art and stained glass.

Incandescent comes straight from the Latin Candidus, "white shining". It can also mean that someone is intensely showing their emotions, or being candid...
