You have to be liscensed or certified to be a home inspector, I believe. There are classes that are offered at various career centers and possibly online.

Check with your local realot association. They would have connections to the licensing requirements fo rhome inspections.

Aslo check with your state Licensing department they would have thelsit of criterea and qualificatons neccessary to take the exam.

The best way to learn about repairing homes andtheir costs is to work with a contracotr. They can spell out the labor costs for sub-contracotrs and check out the local Home Depot or Lowes. They will give you a good idea of the material ocsts - once you know what metaerisla you need fo ra particluar job.

If you are looking at remodeling- or repairing - you might want to check out gettgn a contracotr's license. This will give you better deals on the material costs. since most contractors deal in volume.

Most states require licensing. You could start with your state licensing department and get their recommendations as to where to study and what is required to be a Licensed Home Inspector.
