Your not supposed to sumberge your piercing underwater for a month or two. You allow anything to get inside the hole basically, and you may delay the healing process.

But if you do, it is important that you wash it as soon as you get out, just use a mild tea tree oil soap.Lather it on your finger tips, put on your piercing and rinse off.Thats it.

Even though there is chlorine in the water that could irritate it more.
Also there is a lot of dirt, bacteria and nasty things in the water.
I would hold off on swimming for a month at the least.
But just don't be surprised if you have complications with your piercing. (ie. it gets infected, or takes forever to heal)

I have my cartilage pierced and I didn't wait before I swam and have not had any problem with it. But, a little advice, it is going to be really sore for a while after you get it pierced so get it pierced on the side that you don't sleep on!

well i kind of know what you mean. I'm in track and we aren't allowed to wear earrings and i just got mine pierced. i didn't want to get disqualified so i took them out for about 3 hours. and everything was ok. i think you should take your earrings out and put them back in (using an antiseptic) afterwards and it should be ok. good luck!

You can swim. If anything the Chlorine in the water will kill any bacteria.
