Jerry Rice has all the stats and would probably be considered one of the all-time greatest on anyone's list, and most likely #1 on a majority of those lists.

It's pretty hard to compare players from different eras, though.

as a long time niner fan it was a privelage to watch rice do what he did and i can say no one did it or does it quite like rice. not a real big guy but always was a threat to turn the short pass into a long gain and he had great hands and feet for toein the sideline

Jerry Rice who practically owns the record book!

Don Hutson. End of argument.
Hutson caught for more than 800 yards four times, including a 1,200-yard season in 1942! Not to mention his record of 99 receiving TDs, which stood until the last decade or so.
Keep in mind this was in the '40s, when the balls weren't exactly conducive to a high-powered passing attack.

And don't give me this "he couldn't be as dominant today" argument. That's lame. You could say that about Jim Thorpe, too, who was inarguably the greatest athlete in NFL history (though I'd consider arguments for Bo Jackson).

I am going to have to say Art Monk.
Jerry Rice is a class act but I am a Redskins fan so Monk is my favorite.
