If so, what happened. How did you feel? A doctor humiliated me once for a common condition I had no control of.

What about you? Any experiences with insensitive doctors?

Bubbles - Thats interesting, because one doctor recently complained to me about how doctors don't get paid much when they clearly do. And to hear what you just wrote, proves some don;t even work as hard and still get paid.

A long, long time ago, when I was in college, I went to the school's clinic for treatment for a urinary tract infection....the Dr., (a young woman) told me that frequent urinary tract infections are sometimes referred to as "honeymoon cystitis" since, (she says this real sh*tty) "most people wait until they're married to have sex".

I went to a rude doctor a few times - She never listened to my problems, just gave an exam, a prescription and was gone. Her office called one time to change my appointment and didn't even ask me. They told my husband that I had been rescheduled for a certain time and should call if I couldn't come at the rescheduled time. He misunderstood and thought I should call if I could come at the new time (which made more sense, especially since the appointment had only been scheduled a month prior, not like it was an appointment made a year in advance during the last visit or anything). That was the final straw.

Also, I was on a medication that said I should not be taking another over-the-counter medicine, which I have regularly taken because before it was available over-the-counter I had a prescription for it. I only take it on occassion, but on those occassions when I do take it, I might take it every day for a month or so, or sometimes just for a day or two at a time. I had been taking this secondary medication every day for two weeks, and knew I was going to need it for a while, so when I asked at the doctor's visit about it, she told me she wasn't aware of any interactions and didn't think I should worry about it. She seemed so offended when I pointed out that the interaction is listed in every bit of material about the medication she had prescribed, but it does not list the effects to worry about.

So I found another doctor pretty quickly. I think that's about all you can do when you get suckered in by one of these quacks.

I'm a health tech and I can tell you, that I've worked with some pretty rude physicians. I remember this pediatrician. Man, I wanted to punch this guy straight in the mouth! The guy was just a total jerk plain and simple. He was rude to his staff, and to the patients. I'm not sure what happened to this guy. I hope he had his license revoked but I doubt it. If I were you, I'd go straight to the Patient Contact Representative. You don't have to put up with that crap! I'm serious. If you don't speak out about the way you were treated, this doctor will continue to treat all patients the way he treated you.

Actually, I think doctors are getting better the last 10 years or so.
I have had my share during my life.
If the doctor really makes you feel that uncomfortable, try looking for another either at the clinic you go to or another.
I always rotate doctors, that means don't always see your own. By doing this you can find which ones in the clinic you like or dislike.
Some doctors are just plain bad for your health.

I am pregnant and have a rude doctor. She makes me feel so stupid for any question that I ask. LIke I should automatically knwo the answer. Sometimes she cuts me off before she even knows the entire question.

It makes me extremely upset.

This one doctor was very rude and acted like it was a problem to even talk to me. It was horrible. I had a discoloring birth mark that itched and had no idea why. She looked left and sent a nurse back to tell me to go to the dermatologist.

i had a tilt table test and during it my heart stopped for 24 seconds...of course its a big deal.....the very first thing he says is:

don't worry we'll get you a pace maker.....

i looked at him with disgust and said, "you must think i'm going to buy your new BMW, because there is no way your going to be doing the surgery..and i shop around for my examinations

the nurse smiled so sweetly at me when i said this....he started back tracking...and such

nope, i never got the surgery, but his boss found out about his rush to surgery...

Every doctor I've seen in the past 10 years or so was an idiot. Haven't been to one in over three years.
