Try bland foods like the following: bananas, raisins, pasta without tomato sauce, potatoes, green beans, peppers, lima beans, mushrooms, carrots, corn, lettuce, cucumbers, sweet peas, spinach, beets, parsley, water, and apple juice.

Bread, it helps absort the liquid.

I would however contact your Dr as Acid reflux can lead to cancer of the oesophagus since the walls of the oesophagus are not made to withstand the acid generated in your stomatch.

Do not panic since this is rare, but also read on this to help you gain knowledge and speak to your Dr.

QUOTE: (NHS PAGE)
"Long-term acid reflux from the stomach (gastro-oesophageal reflux disease or GORD). This is a common digestive disorder that causes the oesophagus to become sore and swollen. It only leads to cancer in rare cases. "

Antacids such as magnesium trisilicate, magnesium hydroxide and aluminium hydroxide neutralise the acid in your stomach (make it less acidic). They are also best taken when symptoms occur, such as after meals and at bedtime.

Antacids shouldn’t be taken at the same time as other medicines, because they can stop other drugs being properly absorbed by your body and may damage the special coating on some tablets. Always consult your GP before you stop taking any medicines, or if you aren’t sure which other drugs you can take at the same time.

Antacids that contain magnesium tend to have a laxative effect, whereas those containing aluminium can cause constipation. Antacids containing both magnesium and aluminium may reduce these side-effects.

Alginates contain a foaming agent that forms a layer that floats on top of your stomach contents. This stops the reflux of stomach acid and protects your oesophagus lining. Alginates are best taken when symptoms occur, such as after meals and at bedtime, so the foam layer can form on top of your stomach contents when you aren’t going to be eating again for a while.

Take Tums!! Dude I have really bad acid reflux but since gettin some Tums (or any antacids would work, probably) and taking it when it comes up, it's really been helping. --edit-- Well, in that case, you really need to see a specialist or something. You said you already went to one, but that you went on an empty stomach- well go on a full stomach then. Someone should be able to tell you what's going wrong..

I also have that problem...stay away from spicy foods, and greasy foods. If it flairs up do not lay flat, but elevated, meaning keep you head and upper shoulders above you stomach. Good Luck, hope you do not have a hiatal hernia!
