Do NOT scrub it. Most spills are on the surface and do not penetrate the cloth very much. If you scrub, you will grind the stain into the threads. Lay the cloth flat and spray with stain remover (Spray 'n' Wash or something similar). Fold a paper towel and press it against the stain. This allows the stain to be absorbed into the paper towel without grinding it into the fabric.

When you have removed as much of the stain as possible, soak it with more stain remover and wait 10 minutes. Then wash the garment in cold water. Do NOT wash it in hot water as this will "cook" the stain and permanently set it in the fabric. When the washer is done, check the stain before putting it in the dryer. The dryer will set the stain if it has not completely washed out. If the stain persists, repeat the above steps.

If you've tried your best and you can't remove the stain, then buy some dark dye and dye the pants. It may not be the color you had but at least you will not have lost the cash you spent on them.

Good luck.

Spray your pants with oxiclean. You can also try peroxide. Pour it on your spot where the blood is and let it set for 5 to 10 minutes and then soak the spot in cold water. Do not scrub or rub as you may damage the texture of your cotton pants. Good Luck .....
