Should the Canadian government allow foreign or US banks to merge with Canadian banks to increase competition to increase competition and cut down on our service fees?

Did you know that Canadian Toronto Dominion customers pay fees for ATM machines and chequeing accounts, etc, but their TD Banks US customers pay no fees at all.

I don't think allowing US banks to own Canadian banks will solve the problem. It would end up funneling profits from Canada into the US. What we need is some limit on what the banks can steal from customers. They really are getting away with robbery.
