Abortion is a good choice, but it is overdone. How about animal testing or stem cell research? You could argue if they are unethical or ethical and why. There is a lot of information out there, but be careful of how many internet sources you use. They often do not present the facts, just opinion. Time and Newsweek are great sources of info, especially on stem cell research.

Why not tackle the abortion issue? Are you "pro-choice" or "right to life"? Should a woman have the right to control what happens to her own body, including the right to terminate an unwanted pregnacy by abortion? Or does the state have the right to force the woman through 9 months of labor to protect the life of the fetus?

You can't get much more controversial.

I had to do that last year in 10th grade. I did it on Carpooling and how it benefits the society (saves gas, saves money, saves time, etc). You can also do it on the war in Iraq, abortion, animal abuse, technology, or anything of that matter.
