When you are pregnant, your blood volume doubles. Your veins will bulge, and may even develop varicosities. My veins were hard to draw blood from when I was pregnant, too. I don't know why, just one of those things like larger breasts and leg cramps.

It's becasue your're body is doing what is meant for one person for two people. Your body is doing extra work so it shows up as buldging veins. Anyway you might want to see a doctor to express your concerns.

I know that the veins in your breasts sometimes get darker and more prevalent

Absolutly....your carrying twice the blood, and twice the fluids....i actualy got carpel tunnels syndrom from my third pregnancy because of this..
