Here's some stuff in 1800, I think you can answer for the modern stuff
1800 - fastest way to get from one place to another - ride a horse.
1800 - fastest way to get a message from one place to another - give it to a guy with a horse
1800 - you eat part of your dinner, what do you do with the leftovers? Thow them away because in a few hours they will start to rot.
1800 - you get sick, call the doctor - he cuts you and drains out some blood.,, no medicines
1800 - you have to have an operation - you get tied down so you cant move, they start cutting - there is no medicine to put you to sleep
1800 - 99% of the world, no toilets
1800 - 99% of the world, thirsty? drink some water from a river or stream contaminated with poop
1800 need to go to the top of a tall building? no problem start walking - no elevators
1800 - want to go across the ocean - take a sailing ship, if the wind doesnt blow, sit still in one place for a week until it starts blowing again.
1800 - want to look up some information, go to a library - if you can find one - pay some money to get in, wander around trying to find a useful book - no list of what the books are.
1800 want to heat your house - take an axe and go cut up a tree -- you need a lot of wood and you have to keep putting wood on the fire every hour or two all winter long....
1800 want to cook - light a fire
1800 want to read at night - light a fire, or if you are rich, light a candle.
1800 want some nice looking clothes? forget it, most people have no store to buy clothes at, and if they do have a store the clothes are REALLY expensive and they dont have any bright colored clothes because there are only a few different colors of dyes,,,, same thing for painting your house
