The term is still Monarchy, you just don't have one in the US

When told that the people didn't have bread to feed themselves with Marie Antoinette said, "Let them eat cake."

I have no idea which Latin American country had no coup.

Monarchy is a type of government ruled by a king and queen. Today we have a Democracy ruled by both the government AND citizens.

We call it monarachy, same as we did 200 yrs ago. The word means one leader, or king.
