When a verb has two or more subjects you can say that is a compound subject. Example: Annie and Mary got scared when they saw Sammy put frogs in his soup.

When a subject has 2 or more verbs that is a compound verb.
example: Before mixing the ingredients for his world famous cookies Tommy swatted a fly.
Bobby- subject. swatted-mixing-- verbs.

compound just means more than one
subject: Jenny and Mark went swimming. (2 subjects)
verb: Jenny went swimming and fishing. (2 verbs)
