My fave of all time is AC/DC , but I really like all the afore mentioned , plus many others.

The man has got good taste ! Early DC material rocks all the way , I cant believe anyone could be un-impressed with the likes of dirty deeds done dirt cheap or the cheekyness of Big Balls. For me though I am torn down the middle(not literally). Iron maiden are the undeniable fathers of heavy metal in the UK.Yes Sabbath where the creators of the metal scene but maiden are still around while Ozzy sits around dribbling down himself being bullied around by Sharon "not fit to live" Osbourne! Iron Maiden are still one of the freshest bands around Anyway...
Then we come to Pink Floyd ,I have memories of them when I was 5 , when my dad came home from watching The Wall in concert and they have been my favourite band ever since. They were Well before there time which is why no one has come close to recreating what they do. Based on this Is it A: Iron Maiden or B: the legendary Pink Floyd ??? I cant choose , but I feel that public opinion would indicate Pink Floyd . So be it!!!!!

I have found that most modern rock artists aren't very good at all. In fact, that's why, instead of sticking to rock, I started listening to country. I mean, Brad Paisley is one of the best guitarists alive (check him out, if you haven't already). Of course, every era of music, no matter how bad, does usually have some talent hidden somewhere. For 80's metal, there was Cinderella and quite a few others. MQ: Grudge died faster...I mean, glam bands are still touring and making quite a bit of money. Some are even coming out with new material. Grudge, on the other hand, seems to be almost completely dead...except for the few Nirvana fans left, which I think were completely overrated. EDIT: One great modern band that's one of my personal favorites is Cross Canadian Ragweed. Many people don't know who they are at all. One reason for this may be the fact that their stupid record label labeled them as country when they're obviously rock! Give 'em a listen sometime--you won't be sorry...especially if you love great blues-influenced rock!

Led Zeppelin and the WHO.

Modern rock stinks because they are no-talent hacks. Their musicianship, in general, s u x bigtime! and their songwriting s u x even bigger than bigtime. But anybody can put out an album and record labels and radio will promote whoever they think can bring in the most $$$. Unfortunately, they've found that the biggest cash payoffs come by targeting pre-teen girls (and boys to some extent), so in effect, little kids are choosing what's "good" enough for record companies to back. When's the last time you met a 10 or 11yo with great taste in Rock?

BON SCOTT just to catch your eye is the greatest front man/rock singer that has ever walked this planet, better than anyone ever full stop. AC/DC were pretty good also and i laugh at the thought of any band thinking that they were better. How many bands have made two albums in one year, They were so talented in 75 they had High voltage, TNT albums out, in 78 They had Powerage and If you want blood albums out. What a sound they had. They are the only band that has really put rock where it is today, the riffs the vocals the lyrics pure lads music, beer, sex, fighting music and the odd blues number total class. makes my hairs stand up on my neck. strong tallent in every department hard drums, solid base never miss a beat and two brothers with a telepathic understanding with Bon who is the real working mans poet, R.I.P. And long live Brian Johnson what a voice.........................oh yeah i forgot the question lol...the chili peppers are the best about now i love their stuff from all albums but i like track 13 on both discs of the new album lol....................................................................................................................................6th grade noselli ?noselli what a knob you are, ...... ill put you 6ft under you sad cant lol

I am amazed to see no one said the Doors. It is really hard for me to pick favorites, cause i like so many. Crosby,Stills,Nash and Young, Black Sabbath,Kiss, Led Zepplin,AC/DC, Ozzy,Dio, the list could go on forever.
You are right about new rock.Rob Zombie is about the best new rock group to come out. What we need is for some renegade radio dj's and producers to start some all metal radio stations.Metal is trying to make a come back, it will never die.Judas Priest says it the best, in their song "Revolution": IF YOU THINK IT'S OVER, BETTER THINK AGAIN

This was the music of my era! These were all great groups with their own special signature and talents. Not only were they great musicians but they were fabulous entertainers as well.
I think I have settled on Pink Floyd as my lasting favourite although it was a difficult choice.
P.S. I think The Stones could use a new act. Mick and Co. are beginning to look like rusty old geezers dressed up and skipping around like the old days. It is so not cool anymore boys!

Hey...Whats up! Well, of who you have mentioned, I like Uriah Heep, Pink Floyd, I think you left out bands that I would have considered "the best", Cream, The Doors, Stepenwolf, Jethro Tull, John Mayall, Moody Blues, Jefferson Airplane.......and The Stones of course. You know what Man, think about it, there were so many great bands, that it is really hard to pick just one. Shoot, I'll bet someone out there thinks Bill Hayley & the Comets were it. GREAT QUESTION!!!..............LATER.

The Music Producers killed them. I'm preferential to the above listing myself and won't listen to anything passed the 1985 or so timeline as the crap they produce these days have no soul. There's no real talent behind the axe these days.

Rock Star Super Blowhard is a joke. I don't know what the kids today think of as talent but Tommy Lee and the boys should be shot. None of the crap that they sing is worth listening to and that is supposedly today's rock? I think it is time to dust off the vinyl!
