yes you do. but whats the problem? Its a FREE download, and its the best music player out there. period. so just get it ok

Yes, Apple created it that way...if you hate Itunes, I'd recommend a different MP3 player. Some use Windows Media Player and Real Media Player.

no, you can use the iPod as a "harddrive" and drag and drop the music files that way, but you will not be able to play them from the iPod....

It is best to use iTunes to install the music.
