Don't put fingernail polish remover on it!
I know it sounds crazy but put mens shaving cream on it. Let it sit for a minute and then scrub it in with a warm wet clean cloth. This will only work if it is fresh nail polish, and it has to be cream not foaming gel

You really can't. All you will do is smear it, sorry. I learned the hard way when a whole bottle of red nail polish fell off of my second floor ledge and bounced down almost every darn step i had tgo the first floor, the walls, rugs, my shirt, everything was covered,,,,ugh.
