It was designed as a tribute to former singer Bon Scott, who died the year before, and was built on a theme of mortality and hedonism.

Yes, AC/DC was in mourning after the death of Bonn Scot who was replaced by Brian Johnson. Bonn asphyxiated on his own vomit after a night of binge drinking. This was the tribute album to him!
