I need to know a hotel room that costs less than 20 dollars a night near the US embassy. Doesn't have to be walking distance but close enough to take a short cab ride.. short as in less than 10-15 mins. Please provide website or name of the hotel and rate. Thank you.

It needs to be less or around 20-25 dollars a nite. Please if it isn't that rate don't mention the hotels. I know more money will get me a better hotel but more money would also give me a better car but I can't afford that is why I don't have a better car. Get it?

Invest in a better hotel such as the Manila Hotel, a stone's throw away from the embassy. Why do you need to be so close to the embassy unless you have official business there? In that case your per diem would be a lot more than 25 bucks a day. The embassy is a long hike to and from the airport, I hope you're not afraid of getting kidnapped--that is unlikely unless you piss somebody off there.
Never heard of the Swagman except it supposedly is a place for horny Aussies and other similar types to pick up prostitutes.

I stay at the Swagman hotel check the rates its about 35-40 a nite unless your a VFW member or others which I don't know about then its about 25. They will give you a free ride to the hotel from airport just email them when making your reservation. Just on the next block up are a couple for about 20 a nite still near embassy. http://swaggy.com/start.htm

Not sure of the cheapest but I stayed at Swagman and City State Towers. They are both about $40/night. City State Towers has nice, clean, new rooms. Swagman's has a lot of Aussie charm but is older and a bit run down.
Swagman's is across the street from the US embassy, City State Towers is a couple of blocks further.
You can find nice $20 hotels in many parts of the Philippines but staying in Manila you might consider paying a little more.

Check out the website I provided. I've used some of these hostels often. They are good, clean and dirt cheap. And some close to the Embassy.

You stay at swagman hotel across to US Embassy.. I stay there when i'm working my Visa to US.. swagman is clean and the people are very friendly specially the manager Terry I think his still there.

there are many hotels on mabini street near the swagman, charging 30usd a night. citystate tower- lotus garden - city garden
slouch hat - malate pension - pension natividad. check out the new lonely planet guide to the philippines, it's right up to date..

theres a SORIENTO HOTEL just walking distance from the us embassy... its like less than a thousand(pesos) per night...its near st lukes center
