G'day Motor Mouth,

Thanks for your question.

Apparently, they have already started filming the next series of Doctor Who with David Tennant. The Daily Star has reported that Doctor Who might have a son so that they continue to have series after he uses up his regenerations but this has been denied. David Tennant is the tenth doctor and he has 13 regenerations.

When the series began in 1963, Dr Who was travelling with his granddaughter so that might be another opportunity.

Will Smith would probably cost too much. Given the regeneration, a new doctor doesn't have to look much like the old one. I was thinking of Geoffrey Rush as an Australian doctor.

I have attached sources for your reference.

Regards

I am hoping it will be a while before David Tennant quits! He blew me away in the Christmas special, and I'm looking forward to seeing him in the second series in October - Canada hasn't seen it yet. I don't want to think about a replacement for him yet!

Speakin as an actor it is my ultimate dream to play the doctor as ive been a fan for years and its such a celebrated role these days.
But i think its going to be someone who has bound to have worked with Head writer Russell T Davies before, someone like Rupert Penry-Jones (Grimani from casanova)

Richard Dean Anderson, the guy who played in Stargate and MacGyver.

Clive Owen, or Antony Head. He would be brilliant! I know he played a bad guy in the last series but he would make an amazing doctor!

Stephen Mangan who plays Guy Secretan in Green Wing, or, better yet, Simon Pegg

Johnny Depp would be good. But I don't think he would agree!! I second the suggestion of Anthony Head, but as he has already apperared on it as an alien, I don' think that would work!!!
