A few times, lately, I've seen on Yahoo! Answers reference to people who are 'easily influenced'. Nobody has decribed THEMSELVES as easily influenced. It's always other people. What I would like to know is: who ARE these people who are easily influenced and why aren't Yahoo! Answerers among them?

A good thought provoking question to one who is not easily influenced by other people's thoughts and opinions as I listen to all sides and then weigh up the best action for myself. Unfortunatly a lot of people are not like this and need the gentle or forcefull points/veiws/opinions/ideas of others and then some make the wrong choice for them as they have listened and taken on board what others have said as the truth or right way which is very often what they would do or chose hence being easily influenced not always the best way. Other factors to consider are personality some like to be led others like to lead. Some people are so confused or in a dilema that they cant see the answer themselves so they ask on here. To ask a question does not mean that everyone will be influenced by each and every answer it does however give them a very broad open sometimes brutal or funny option and then they can take the ideas on board and think what may or may be not the best solution for them. In some answers it may even show the light of what is staring them in the face in what is happening to them and really they do know the answer just needed clarification/reasurance.
Some people who put a question are just intrested in what others have to say. They may need help with homework or whatever what better place to come if you are stuck on something and need an answer as you have hundreds of people with all sorts of experience, from all walks of life and age/culture/sex at your disposal why not use it? It does not mean for one min they are easily influenced they are using their brain and it is fun.
The people who answer the questions are not nessasary people who are not easily influenced they may just simply have very good knowledge/background/experience/professional in what ever the subject is.
Long winded answer and may not be the right one but is my opinion.

Easily influenced means to be easily convinced to go a certain way. Hopefully, some yahoo answerers are smart enough or knowledgeable and not so gullible as to accept everything that's shoved down their throats. The people who are easily infuenced are the ignorant, less educated and less informed. Hopefully, these people will use didactic reasonings and form their own conclusions based on the facts and not easily swayed by emotions.

That's why this site is very good if it's utilized the right way. It can provide a lot of information on different subjects, or topics. And hopefully a lot of answerers, like me, do enough research to come up with the right answers not just some hogwash or wishy-washy opinions. This has been a very enriching experience for me. One is never too old to learn and gain new knowledge.

Because people who ARE easily influenced do not know the answers to the questions the other easily influenced people are posing.
So that's why they are not among the enlightened!

Aha -- excellent question. I'm no expert, but methinks that if one was easily influenced, they would not readily admit it, as if it were the mark of the beast. You would have to admit that you were vulnerable, and lacked the ability to acertain unreasonable influence. Or maybe they just don't wanna seem wussy. Of course people who frequent this forum are not all integrated, perfectly in tune with mental wellness - if that were the case, there would be no need for this forum. so hang loose & stay outta the trees, that is, if you are compelled to do so - i don't want to influence you, after all!

Easily influenced people are people that can be persuaded easily to do something e.g. by peer pressure, advertising.

People don't usually admit when they're easily influenced, but people can readily throw the accusation.

Being easy influenced, means listening to others, all being influenced by others, etc, if someone said come rob a bank with me, and i said no way, and they said go on, we need some money, and they keep trying to persuade, me and in the end i give in and go and do it. That was only an example.

Easily influenced means THICK. thats what it means. Each time you come across EI just replace it with THICK AS TWO SHORT PLANKS. For example, Some people on Yahoo are easily influenced. Means : Some people on Yahoo are as thick as two short planks. Have a good day.

Peeps who are very manipulative &/or vulnerable are the ones who are "easily influenced". Of course YA'wers are among them. Maybe some just don't wanna admit to it.

Easily influenced people don't realize they are easily influenced. Just like bad people don't realize they are bad.
