1. Click Start->Programs (or All Programs)
2. Find the Startup link in the menu
3. Do you see Internet Explorer there? If so, right click it and click delete.

Internet Explorer may be in your startup folder. Check and see if this is the case. If so, in your startup folder, right-click on Internet explorer and select delete.

Don't worry, this does not delete the program it only deletes the Internet explorer shortcut that was in your startup folder.

Hope this helps. If you are unsure of what to do, or need help you can e-mail me at the address listed on my Q&A page.

I never heard of log on to your desktop ??? You log on to your computer account and get the desktop. From there you can go somewhere else. This is automatic and can't be changed that I know of? From the desktop you must clk on an icon (shortcut) or Start to go somewhere else.
Your question must be misstated, please repost it in a more clean manner as to what you want.
