I remember everything that you mentioned, but I also remember gas being 35 cents, smokes being 25 cents per pack. No seat belts or car seats, the mom would hold the baby on her lap. Being able to walk down the street with no fear. Having all the adults in neighborhood be your parents. That was rough. Butterfly handle bars and banana seats. Walking to school with your friends. 5 cents would get you so much candy back then, the wax lips, black wax mustaches, little wax pop bottles with some form of sugar liquid in them. Returnable pop bottles (that's how we paid for our cigarettes). You can go to the neighborhood store with a note from your parents to buy a pack of cigarettes. I could probably think of more, but you get the idea.

Captain Kangaroo, gas being 25 cents, coke being 5 cents, no computers, no video games, candy cigerettes, no McDonalds or any other fast food chains. I also remember records and 8 tracks. But the most I remember was how everything was cheaper back then.

I remember no seal belts. I can't imagine now putting my kids in a car without seat belts.
What the hell were we all thinking?
