My friend wants to know how many checks he can write in a day. He has the money in the account, but doesn't wanna carry the cash around. He's got a lot of things to buy because he's leaving the country soon with emergency reasons. Any advise would be helpful. thanks...

He says he has the 2/3 of the money which can cover his cost. The rest will be deposited in to the bank on the day he leaves. Can he do that?

You can write as many checks in a day that you have money in your account to cover them. There is no restriction on how many checks you can write.

He may write as many checks as he wants as long as the money is in the account. To be on the safe side a check takes 7 days to clear. The check may be cashed by the person sooner if he goes to the bank on the same day. Some places will not accept out of town checks. A debit card may be what you are looking for. Call your bank!

It depends on the type of checking account he has. On some money market savings, you can only write five in one day without paying any charges. But, you can write as many as you like for a fee. If he has a regular checking account, he can write checks all day, as long as he has funds to cover them. I would suggest he purchase traveler's checks for a trip, because it's instand cash. Most places will not accept a personal check. I'd hate for him to get out of the country with no available money. Also, he can use a debit or credit card and not carry much cash.

You can write as many checks as you want, but usually if the store is in a checking system. the system will flag your account after 3 a day. depending on the amount. Some stores have it set up so the money comes out of your account as the check clears the register. Hope this helps.

He can write as many checks as he has money to cover. It may take a long time to clear....it takes 1-2 days after the check is deposited. Sometime people lose checks for 6 mos. before they deposit them!! There fore keep track of all checks written. If he uses a debit card, the bank keeps track for you and it is easier if he isn't too money savvy or organized.

There's no limit to how many checks you can write , I just hope he has the money to cover the checks and as far as how long it takes to clear that depends on the store he wrote the check out to and how long it takes them to return the check to the bank in most cases if it's a store locally I would say 3 to 4 days if your lucky..

If he is going to another country he will probably have difficulty cashing any personal checks. He should get a debit card or traveler's checks.
