No need to be nervous or embarrased. You are experiencing what every man had to go through as a boy. You mind is excercising your penis on its own schedule that is not convenient for you. Your penis is part of being a man and is normal and healthy. Girls may misunderstand about male puberty and think that you are thinking nasty sex thoughts all the time but we know better. If it will help I assure you that most girls and boys don't notice. I have included a short essay on why boys get erections take time to read it. You are okay, normal, and I hope you are enjoying your maleness.
Okay I will try and explain how erections happen but you will be most amazed by the fact that most of the time (at least in young men ) we don't do anything. Also, you will have to put up with a long explanation. In order to have sex a male penis must be erect. That erection is related to physical health, mental health, and emotional health (ego) If a male is threatened or scared or has anxiety about sex he may not be able to get erect. Erections occur when more blood is pumped into the special tissue in the penis than can leave. The arteries carry blood to the penis and the veins carry blood away from the penis. When the brain gives the command the arteries dilate (become very large) and more blood is pumped into the penis than can be carried away by the smaller veins. The result is the penis becomes engourged with blood and becomes erect. When erect it becomes more sensitive and sexual arousal is easier. The following things will trigger the command in the brain so that an erection occurs. Physical stimulation (the boy or other person touch and rubs the penis), visual stimulation (the boy sees a girl, a picture, or woman in a form of undress that triggers an erection) Males are genetically engineered to be set off by visual stimulations. This is one reason why most users of pornography are males. In childhood and early puberty (5 to 13) boys can get spontaneous erections. The brain just decides to trigger an erection. This is very embarrassing to boys because it happens at school, while at play, in front their girl friends, in the shower during PE. The boy does nothing to cause this it just happens really! Girls think boys are always horny and that is true for teen agers but boys don't do it the hormones do it to them. Mental stimulation, sometimes just thinking about a special girl or having masturbated last night etc. will stimulate an erection. Boys get no rest while they sleep either. While a boy sleeps at night he usually has up to 7 erections in his sleep. And if he has not masturbated for several days and is of the age to produce semen he may have an orgasm in his sleep ( a wet dream ) in which he shoots semen all over his PJ's or briefs and the bed sheets. It is usually a rather large amount. Then in the morning he wakes up with a very hard erection that is the result of pressure from a full urinary bladder on the veins in his penis. That has to be dealt with in some way so he can urinate. Erections are very much a part of a man's life. In our youth we do not do a lot to cause them they just happen. As we mature and enter puberty we learn to take charge of our sexuality and to control them to some degree but not totally. A man can cause an erection by physical stimulation, visual stimulation, sex play with a partner, or mental stimulation or fantasy. And most men use those things to get erections at private moments in order to masturbate in private and release all that sexual tension. When a man gets a partner then she helps release all the sexual tension and love making or having sex envolves physical, visual, and emotional stimulus.

The same thing happened to me from fifth grade till about eleventh grade. You might have this pleasure bother you for quite a few years, so you had better figure out some ways to conceal your pal. Others answerers have given you some good advice here. I am surprised no one has told you to masturbate frequently; ignore that kind of advice if you get it, because that really will not help much. Just figure out some ways to cover that area, like wearing a jacket tied around your waist, or wearing a long sweatshirt. If you keep your eyes open, you will see other boys doing the same thing. The "problem" really is very common!

It's natural. I think it has to do with providing good circulation to the penis. Just act natural. If you act weird, people are more likely to notice. Every healthy guy has that happen to him at least some of the time, and I doubt they would think anything of it. You might try sitting differently or in a different part of the room if you're afraid someone will see. Or you could put it under your belt or down one of the legs of your pants. Also, if you have a lot of books, you could start silently digging in your backpack for something or just put something in your lap. Really, nobody will say anything to you and chances are they won't think anything of it either. If they do, they're acting like children. Good night!

It's totally normal, and it happens to nearly all boys your age. It's the hormones associated with puberty, and it's a good thing - it means you are young and healthy and everything's pointing the right way.
Just cover yourself with a jacket or book or something until it goes down.

The desk makes you horny? JK, LOL.
No its just your teenage hormones acting up, everyone will get a random erection at times. The best way to cover it up is this. If you live in a cold climate wear a sweatshirt that goes below your waist, it helps. If not, well try to cover it up with your shirt, and if its big girls will notice, thats good!
Good Luck and don't worry!

Relax. There's nothing wrong with you. If you're under 18, you have raging hormones. If you don't want people to notice, wear a jock strap and loose pants.

Its because your a teen and its normal for that to happen. You did nothing wrong and it will get better as you get older and your hormones even out. Although it will happen at night through out your life. Trust me I am a mom and I happen to know these kind of things. When it happens try to relax and not think about it. Having Sex will not cure the problem at all.

It's very normal for a person your age. A good suggestion would be to wear boxerbriefs. They are tighter fitting underwear that won't allow errections to stick out.

this is normal. it happens at the beginning and also during puberty. my boyfriend's brother is going through it too. and every time it happens he's really embarrassed. but you have nothing to worry about because it will eventually stop when you're not in puberty anymore. :D

This is very common at the beginning of puberty. Just wear loose clothing and try to keep that area covered if it is doing the "boing" "thing". try not to fixate on it, try some deep breathing exercises. Hopefully this phase shall pass quickly.
