If it is standard mail (third class) throw it away. If it is first class, draw a line through it and write down moved. If its second class (magazines or catalogs) you could either just keep it, or give it to the carrier with the "moved" written on it. If the carrier leaves the second class you can make your own mind up. But it would be nice to just let the carrier take it back so he could endorse it either moved, left no order, or he could forward it if they left a change of address.

Ask the mailman to forward her mail. She should have filled out a forwarding request at the Post Office. I'll wager she does not want her mail.

I would first let the mailperson know. If that doesn't work, write on one of the letters on the outside that they no longer live here. Then return them to the post office.

If you see your Postman tell him that she has moved and he will pick it up. If you are friends with her bring it to her. Or bring it by the post office and they will forward.
