sorry I am a bit confused . Have you made any payments ?
As your question it can be read that you did not make any payments due to the fact that you never received an invoice for five years . Did you sign a contract ?? If you knew the car was not a gift and the amoujnt of payemnt that you were suppose to be sending you should of been paying it , and if you did not recieve any thing before five years you should of contacted him

You have to contact the lien holder and find out what terms they wish to settle on. It may mean repaying a past debt, penalties, whatever they deem necessary. Only the holder of the lien can have it removed. It doesn't matter how old the lien is but the longer you wait the more harmful it is to your credit score.

visit thelocal DMV and report for a lost call. If it exhibits a lien from the previous financial business enterprise, take any documents you may Wells Fargo (assertion exhibiting $0, credit report exhibiting $0, financial business enterprise statements exhibiting previous few money). they are able to launch your call in case you're polite and continual. in the event that they offered the previous financial business enterprise, they are to blame for coping with the unfastened ends of the previous financial business enterprise. It is basically no longer common. good luck,

first of all was the car paid for and who has the title? each state will differ but usally whoever has the title in thier name and once the car is paid for the finance company will automatically send you the title. If no finance company was involved. then contact your son if possible to determine if the car is paid for.Basically the deciding factor is, is the car paid for? The dealer got his money when the car was purchased unless they financed it themselves in that case you should call them. O.K.?

If you have the title, take it to the car dealer and ask them to release the lien.

pay what you owe, the dealer doesn't have to send any letters, just the tow truck. He could ruin your credit.
